A shop run by four people who would, in a different life, have just kept playing games in their kitchen.
Instead, we opened a tiny shop. It has a green felt-topped table in the middle, a kettle that’s always on, and 400+ games we’d each personally recommend.
How we run the shop.
No „trending“ garbage.
We don’t shelve a game because TikTok told us to. Every title here has been played at our Thursday table by at least four people. If the consensus is „fine, I guess“, it doesn’t make the cut.
Real recommendations.
Tell us what you like in two sentences and we’ll find you three games you’ll love. We will not pretend the most expensive thing on the shelf is „perfect for you“ if it isn’t.
Teach, don’t sell.
A 25-minute rule walkthrough is part of buying any game from us. We’d rather sell you fewer games you actually play than more games that gather dust.
Fair to publishers.
We buy directly from small publishers wherever we can. No race-to-the-bottom discounting on titles where every pound goes back to the designer.
You’ll probably meet at least one of us.
Jana Kovács
Likes: 90-minute euros, tight engines, polished components. Dislikes: take-that mechanics.
Rafe Mwangi
Will teach a co-op campaign to anyone who looks vaguely interested. Spends weekends building Gloomhaven dioramas.
Imo Shrestha
Tests every „family“ game with her three kids before it hits the shelf. If they ask for it again, we shelve it.
Bram Vásquez
Hunts down obscure indie titles at conventions. If a game has a 47-page rulebook, Bram has read it.
Most retail doesn’t care if you actually use the thing you bought. We do. That’s the whole shop.
Pop in for tea
and a quick game.
The kettle is always on. The big table is always set up. If we’re not too busy, we’ll teach you a 20-minute game on the spot.
